Restorative justice is when instead of an offender getting a typical punishment (e.g. prison sentence, community service), the victim and offender both agree to discuss the crime and agree a different form of redress. If either the victim or the offender do not consent to the restorative justice process then the normal sentencing process and punishment for the crime occur instead.

A Ulysses' contract is a resolution made freely and independently by an individual which outlines consequences for their future actions. This could for instance look like an individual outlining that if their future income exceeds a certain threshold, the excess will be donated to charity or that if they fail to quit drinking alcohol within a year they will attend rehab.

The Pink Tide is a term that describes the wave of Latin American countries who elected left-wing, progressively economic and/or social parties into office in the early 2000s. It was a mass reaction to neoliberal, right-wing governments before the 2000s. Since the 2010s, most of Latin America has experienced a strong 'conservative wave' for example, Bolsanaro in Brazil and Lasso in Ecuador amongst many others.

The 'reasonable sustainability standard' outlines the standards a company should meet in the production of a good or the supply of a process to be considered environmentally sustainable, e.g. meaningful attempts at carbon neutrality, sustainable agricultural and forestry practices, or sustainable manufacturing practices for example resource extraction.
